In the Handle Superclass section of http://ubcmatlabguide.github.io/html/objectOrientedAdvanced.html, you could mention that as of R2011a deep copy is natively supported by inheriting from the matlab.mixin.Copyable class. See https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/ref/matlab.mixin.copyable-class.html.
