Progress update?

I recently ported a large codebase to Node.

The only issue I had was having to remove the regexp comments/whitespace, and turning them back to "line noise".

This is an urgently needed practical addition to Javascript, and would enable RegExp to be portable with other programming languages.

This proposal seems to have been stuck for a while.

Is there a progress update?
