Inspect and modify query before search

Hi,

If the first character typed in the search box is a dash, I'd like to alter the query string before the (dynamic) search is performed.

Could a callback to alter the query string be a new feature?

hey, I've added the possibility to have custom requests when using a function that returns a new request object inside the develop branch, ex:

if (query.charAt(0) === '-') {
  query = 'test ' + query;
}

I get TypeError: query is undefined notices in the console, but this works:

if (query && query.charAt(0) === '-') {
  query = 'test ' + query;
}

Hey jackson, the "query is undefined" shouldn't happen as it is by default an empty string.. I am unable to reproduce this error perhaps it has to do with a combination of init options. Could you paste me your init to verify? thanks.
