  • Added tests for changed code.
  • Updated documentation for changed code.

Without the fix, the union of
sys_platform == "win32" or sys_platform == "linux" and
sys_platform != "win32" and sys_platform != "darwin" is not simplified to
sys_platform != "darwin".

Further, the union of
sys_platform == "win32" or sys_platform == "linux" and
sys_platform != "win32" and sys_platform != "linux"
is not recognized as AnyMarker.

Summary by Sourcery

New Features:

  • Add support for simplifying unions of inverse and partially inverse atomic markers

Enhancements:

  • Optimize union constraint simplification to handle more complex marker scenarios
  • Improve handling of marker intersections and unions

Tests:

  • Add test cases for inverse and partially inverse atomic markers
  • Expand test coverage for marker constraint simplification

Reviewer's Guide by Sourcery

This pull request simplifies the union of inverse (or partially inverse) atomic single markers. The changes involve modifications to the union method in UnionConstraint to handle inverse relationships, along with the addition of new test cases to ensure correct behavior.

No diagrams generated as the changes look simple and do not need a visual representation.

File-Level Changes

Change Details Files
Simplified the union operation for inverse or partially inverse atomic single markers.
  • Modified the union method in UnionConstraint to handle cases where one constraint is the inverse or partially inverse of another.
  • Added logic to recognize when the union of a constraint and its inverse results in AnyConstraint.
  • Implemented simplification logic to remove redundant constraints when combining unions and multi-constraints.
  • Added new test cases to verify the correct behavior of the union operation with inverse and partially inverse markers.

Hey @radoering - I've reviewed your changes - here's some feedback:

Overall Comments:

  • It looks like some of the tests in test_constraint.py could be simplified further.
  • Consider extracting the marker simplification logic into a separate function for better readability.
