Based on the deprecation policy, shouldn't this wait until 6 months have passed since the relase of pip 25.0? |

Let's defer until 25.2. There's no rush. @ichard26 - can you update the deprecation date in the existing warning to say 25.2, and we'll merge this once the 25.1 release is done. |
