Palette Center Agent

Client side component of the Palette Center product. It receives requests from the server side component of Palette Center over HTTPS.

Installation

Download the installer

The latest version can be downloaded from the GitHub Releases page or can be built locally.

Installer

The MSI installer wizard guides you through the necessary setup steps which are required for the Palette Center Agent installation.

Tableau Primary

The first agent installation must be made on the Tableau Primary node. This makes the Tableau Cluster restart too.

Palette Server License Key

This must be the same one which was used at the setup of the server side component. The license key can be any valid generated GUID.

Palette Server IP Address or Hostname

Use the address or hostname via the agent computer can access the server computer.

Administrator Account

It is highly recommended to create a new service user for the agent. If you decide to use an existing one make sure it is a Local Administrator on that machine.

Troubleshooting

The default <INSTALL_DIR> for the Palette Center Agent is C:\Program Files (x86)\Palette Software\Palette\

Configuration

The configuration file is located at: <INSTALL_DIR>\conf\agent.ini

Log file locations

The log files are located at: <INSTALL_DIR>\logs\agent.log*
