Virtual Platforms x User API and Defaults #8781
Description
Once we have more than a single virtual platform, we're going to need to think through how we figure out what the defaults are, what users can select on a per-project basis and what the minimum quantity of sleds we want to exist before we enable this given migration constraints this will introduce.
This covers:
- Adding APIs to discover virtual platforms
- Determine how we will manage virtual platforms
- How instances specify the virtual platform
- How defaults and access around what platforms can be used are managed and at what granularity (silo, project, etc.)?
