Just now, my application for Github student package certification was rejected. I clicked on the community hoping to find some help. But I didn't lose heart. There are always more solutions than difficulties. Maybe slowly understanding the policy is a good start. As Github is the best website in the world. |

I wrote support and offered to upload my transcript and a screenshot, but explained i couldnt get a live pic of both since my school id wasnt enough. They just approved me. The live picture thing is strange. They should allow uploads after a live picture to capture location. |

@samus-aran Hi thanks for the info. Can you remind me how I can upgrade one of my organizations to Teams through the educator's benefit ? Recently I created an organization and upgraded but asked for payment method. I entered my card number and it charged. However, after I distributed my assignment links, students' repositories are not created. Could you please let me know how I would be able to resolve the issues? Good day, KW |

Hi @kw, thanks for reaching out! To upgrade an organization to Teams using the educator's benefit, you need to be a verified educator through GitHub Education. After approval, visit your GitHub Global Campus dashboard, find the "Upgrade your academic organizations" section, and click "Upgrade to GitHub Team" next to the organization name. This should apply the free upgrade if eligibleβno payment should be required. If you were charged, it might be due to a delay in benefit activation or an error in the process. I recommend contacting GitHub support at [email protected] to request a refund and verify your educator benefits are properly applied. Regarding the student repository creation issue, after distributing assignment links via GitHub Classroom, ensure students have accepted the invitations. If repositories arenβt created, check that the organization is correctly linked to your classroom, the assignment settings (e.g., team options, visibility) are configured, and students have the necessary permissions. If the problem persists, it could be related to the recent upgrade glitchβrevisit the assignment setup in GitHub Classroom and resend the links. |

In my case, I first submitted my Student Card, then after some time they send me an email saying that we will notify you in some 2-4 business days, and after when I got verified, another email said that they are preparing my Student Pack, this will take some more days, around 2-3 days for me, afterwards finally my Pack got activated.
