[QUESTION] Npm Build process

I have several application with build process going from 10 minutes to hours. I can't understand why a build "compile" can take so long.

Can someone explain how that build works ? It looks to re-build everything in the node_modules folder ? is it the case ?

npm v6 is no longer in active development; We will continue to push security releases to v6 at our team's discretion as-per our Support Policy.
