Missing searchable in refinements-list

When trying to use the searchable option in the ais-refinement-list it throws an error because the following method does not exist in instant-meilisearch:

vue.runtime.esm.js?2b0e:1888 Error: search for facet values (searchable) was called, but this client does not have a function client.searchForFacetValues or client.initIndex(index).searchForFacetValues

Unfortunately, we will not able to implement this kind of feature until MeiliSearch provides a way to search in the facets from the API.
Indeed, Algolia has a searchable option you can set on the facets.

The Algolia's SDKs provide a searchForFacetsValue method.

because of the lack of searchForFacetValues, an InstantMeiliSearchInstance is not a SearchClient instance from instantsearch.js.

On the other hand, instantsearch() function from instantsearch.js does expect a SearchClient instance.

Until recentely searchForFacetvalue was optional in the SearchClient. I will add the method returning an empty response and raising a warning explaining why it does not work.

What is the instantSearch version used in your project?

Could you answer in this or: #460

I would love this feature too, being able to search for facets is needed for my use-case.

It's available with the last version of instant-meilisearch. You can see this behaviour on https://ecommerce.meilisearch.com/

There is just a bug that search for facet is not working when there is a sort.
