I think it is OK to merge now once CI has finished. For some reason, git version in ubuntu 18.04 is 2.17 on my PC and 2.22 in CI, quoting is now necessary for "git submodule recursive". All other ongoing CI-failed PRs must update to get CI working, after this one is merged. |

Ubuntu Trusty used in CI is EOL since may 2019, trying with Bionic(18.04)
