how to set default syntax language persistently?

Is there a way to set a default syntax language? Posting from within Emacs using pastebin-new, I'd like my pastebins to be in LISP format automatically. On set and saved that option on pastebin.com, but when I pastebin from within Emacs my posts always appear as plain text.
