Add functionality to R / python packages to summarize available data by geographical area, signal type, etc.

It would be handy to have code functions to, e.g., summarize all available data sources / data retrieval commands for a particular geographical area or that fall into a particular category (e.g., online search queries / webpage visits). Would these be possible to implement?

Sounds like a programmatic version of the signal discovery app? We may be able to just return the contents of the backend of the signal discovery app as a tibble. I'll bring it up, I'm not sure exactly the format of that data.

Searching for sources with data available for a particular geographical area is an immediate todo for the signal discovery app; we'll need to wait for that to merge and then look into using its output. [The category-based filter is in the app already.]

The undocumented /covidcast/geo_coverage endpoint went into service recently, mostly for the purposes of the discovery app, but it could be applied to this issue as well.
