build: run checkpatch and other style checkers

Currently, whitespace is a bit of chaos. Zephyr has fairly strict requirements for coding style and we want to adhere to those.

This change will include a bulk whitespace fixup (which everyone loves, of course).

Additionally, we should run the checkpatch.pl to ensure that coding style conventions are preserved for any new PRs
