Carbon Protocol V3 is an open-source smart contract framework built on Starknet, designed for the tokenization, tracking, and lifecycle management of carbon credits. This version introduces a granular representation of carbon credits using the ERC‑1155 standard, enabling one token per credit per vintage, with native support for rebasable balances and FIFO offsetting via Merkle proofs.
Protocol V3 addresses key limitations of earlier versions by offering:
Precise accounting per vintage, improving auditability and traceability.
Rebase mechanisms to automatically reflect post-audit adjustments without altering millions of individual balances.
Low-cost, scalable operations thanks to gas-efficient smart contract design on Starknet.
By combining trust-minimized infrastructure with fine-grained asset modeling, Carbon Protocol V3 sets a new standard for transparent and interoperable carbon market infrastructure.
