S3 access point as Bucket origin

Hi,
I am trying to setup a S3 Access Point as a bucket origin (because the S3 i am trying to access is in another account), but the cloudformation stack fails to deploy with a bucket not found error.
I am using the access point alias, i checked the code and it seems to me it is failing here : serverless-image-handler/source/custom-resource/index.ts in the validateBuckets function (l.454)
s3Client.headBucket. I did try to test it with aws cli using

aws s3api head-bucket --bucket access-point-alias

the command succeeded locally. Any idea why the stack deployment fail ? Are S3 access points not supported ? Is there a policy to update on the bucket side ?
