Starting from this release until the PLZA hype dies down, we will be rapid-firing releases for new programs and bugfixes like this one. To reduce the amount of update nag spam, we will begin putting them under the beta tag. So you will need to opt into them to get notifications for every minor release.
Version 0.59.1
Version 0.59.1:
Initial PLZA Programs!
- Restaurant Farmer
- Clothing Buyer (credit kichi)
Yes, we are well aware of the insane shiny hunting environment. And we are aware that everyone has been using Turbo Button to write their own macros and that the keyboard recoding program is not useful because it cannot loop commands.
Please be patient. We are working on a proper shiny hunting program complete with shiny detection. But it will take time. It's a very long and grindy game and we all have full time day jobs. So most of us still haven't even beaten the game yet and are very much behind everyone else.
Other Changes:
- The Record Keyboard Controller program now supports looping. This should make it easier to make macros for PLZA shiny hunts! (credit jw)
- SV Auto Story has been further extended. (credit jw)
- ESP32 and Pico W now support reconnecting outside of the grip menu.
- The wiki has been migrated to github.io. (credit Gin)
Important note about SV Auto Story:
SV Auto Story's required moveset for Gardevoir has changed. Now it is (in order):
- Moonblast
- Dazzling Gleam
- Mystical Fire
- Misty Terrain.
Note Mystical Fire's positioning change and the addition of Misty Terrain instead of Psychic.
Wireless Controller Changes:
This release now allows wireless controllers (ESP32 and Pico W) to reconnect to the Switch after pairing. After it has paired with the Switch, switching to a different controller and switching back will attempt to reconnect to the paired Switch. It no longer requires you to be in the grip menu.
Likewise, the behavior of the "Reset Ctrl" has changed. Now, if you click it, it will try to reconnect to the same Switch. If you want to clear the pairing and connect to a new Switch (the old behavior), you must SHIFT+click.
However, due to an resolved issue on the ESP32, reconnects will usually fail on a Switch 1 (but it works on the Switch 2). So you will likely need to go back to the grip menu and SHIFT+click to redo the pairing. Pico W does not have this issue and will reliably reconnect to both Switch 1 and Switch 2. We are still working to fix this issue.
Version 0.58.3:
Mostly Bugfixes:
- SV AutoStory has been extended to Medali Gym. (credit jw)
- Rolled back DPP to fix a major crash in Discord integration. (credit Saber)
- Improved reliability of LGPE programs that reset the game. New firmware will be needed for both ESP32 and Pico W. (reported by frost)
- Fixed some program crashes.
- Fixed some program hangs and poor responsiveness.
- Minor UI changes.
- Pico W will now log rumble events. (requires new firmware)
(Download has been updated to fix incorrect packaging.)
Version 0.58.2
Version 0.58.2:
- Support for Raspberry Pi Pico W and Pico 2 W has been officially released from beta.
- AutoStory has been extended to Orthworm. (credit jw)
- Fixed an issue in all firmware that may cause dropped buttons.
- Stability improvements to AutoDA. (reported by Saber)
- Improved reliability of sandwich OCR.
- Minor UI changes.
This is the last (feature) release until PZA. The main purpose is to get Pico W released in time for the PZA storm.
(Updated with newer Pico firmware.)
Version 0.57.4
Changes:
- Fixed a critical issue in the ESP32 firmware that may cause it to not stay connected on some Switches.
- Added beta support for the Raspberry Pi Pico W and Pico 2 W.
- Added an experimental program to record and playback keyboard commands. (credit jw)
- Improved reliability of SV AutoStory and Mystery Gift programs. (credit jw)
Version 0.57.3
Changes:
- Added Discord Rich Presence (credit Koi)
- SV AutoStory has been extended to Levincia Gym. (credit jw)
- The ESP32-S3 now supports a standard keyboard for ease of typing in text on the Switch. For now this will only work correctly on US keyboard layout (QWERTY). The others are still a work in progress.
- FCE programs will now be able to use the keyboard mode in the ESP32-S3. 6-character raid codes can be entered faster than you can blink.
- FCE programs will try to detect your Switch type early if you didn't specify it.
- AutoDA will more aggressively try to detect (and warn) if you set the language incorrectly.
- Improved reliability of LGPE Legendary Reset for detecting the battle menu.
- The ESP32 should be less prone to silent disconnects. (from error reports)
- The ESP32 will now detect silent disconnects and try to reconnect*.
- Misc. reliability improvements to SwSh programs.
- Keyboard controls no longer log what commands are sent to the Switch due to privacy concerns.**
*This reconnect only works on the Switch 2 and always fails on the Switch 1. This goes back to the (still unfixed) issue where we cannot get the ESP32 to reconnect to the Switch 1 outside of the grip menu - though it works perfectly on the Switch 2.
**Logging of keyboard controls is a big privacy/security issue as people using it to sign into their Nintendo account or e-shop will get their key presses logged. While this wasn't an issue in the past since it was unwieldy to enter a password using a game controller, this changes with the addition of the HID keyboard support. We anticipate that a lot more people will be using CC to enter passwords. So we are preemptively disabling all logging of keyboard controls.
