Jabfox not working with 5.0 dev

• I have tested the latest master version from http://builds.jabref.org/master/ and the problem persists
  JabRef 5.0-dev--snapshot--2018-08-24--master--f43b9c7e8
  Windows 7 6.1 amd64
  Java 1.8.0_181

Steps to reproduce:

1. I tried JabFox from Firefox Quantum 61.0.2. (64Bit)
2. the files where correctly placed and the

`REG ADD "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\org.jabref.jabref" /ve /d "C:\Program Files\JabRef5\jabref.json" /f

was correctly executed.
3. Pressing the Jabfox icon on the page of on https://doi.org/10.1016/B978-0-12-385095-9.00175-5
resulted in some action but the JabRef import window never opened, not even in the background.

It appears that Jabfox is not working with 5.0 dev.

Can you please try out the latest development version. I fixed a few import-related things a few days ago which should make JabFox work again. (By the way, the checkbox at the top of the issue template asking you to try the most recent version is there for a purpose...).

I can see in firefox the "Import references into JabRef" but that entry is bleached and does not react to clicking. The export to Zotero works.

I also tested the doi entry above. This shows a Jabref symbol in firefox but the jabref inport window does not open. Which Zotero is neccessary for importing?

Even with the latest update from today, Jabfox is not working

Jabfox is below the ... but when you want to click it, it is bleached and nothing happens when clicked.
The jabref.json is correctly in the jabref5 directory and the

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\NativeMessagingHosts\org.jabref.jabref

has the correct value.

Clicking the JabFox icon anywhere goes through the motions, but gets stuck at [Importing in JabRef...]. In the plugin management section of Firefox it says the connection to JabRef is successful.

OK, an update:

Now when clicking on JabFox's icon, the signal is sent to JabRef. Unfortunately, it opens a new instance of JabRef, does not offer an import dialog, and creates a completely new database in a new tab ("untitled") that contains the new entry.

I remember there was a setting somewhere to prevent running multiple instances of JabRef (which could potentially solve the first problem), but I couldn't find it in the Preferences window.
