Hi @zupo !
From our docs:

Requests that read data require full access and also require an application key.

Since the typical use case is to submit metrics and events, could you explain a bit on the need for the read aspect form fabric?

For the fabric integration itself, you don't need to set the application key to be able to submit data, but if you want to later use the http api connection for other things that do need the application key, it would be nice to have it set.

@zupo For backwards compatibility, and since the application key is optional for the main fabric use case, could you make that application_key default to None?

When setting up dogapi you need to give the application key also
