I tested this by creating a new fork of coldfront at https://github.com/csbarnet/coldfront and updating the ci.yml there on the main branch. The change adds an option to manually kick off the CI action and to select the desired branch to run the actions against. In this example, I tested that if 'my-feature-branch' was selected here, the correct branch was checked out by the action:
