after my application got approved for the github student benefit...how can i access the copilot pro in the vscode..

You'll get a PRO badge on your profile once benefits become available:

The waiting time may vary depending on different factors, such as the volume of requests; it usually takes a few days, but sometimes it can take a little longer, even a couple of weeks.

Once available, you can claim your Copilot PRO offer on this signup link.

Then go to copilot settings, click on "Copilot in your IDE" and sign in with your GitHub account on the VS Code extension

To redeem others benefits, go to the pack offers page, scroll down to the "All offers" section and select any offer that suits you.

In case you encounter a problem claiming any offer, I recommend you raise a ticket here, select "I am a verified student having trouble redeeming my Global Campus offers" and explain your issue.

Once your GitHub Student Developer Pack application is approved, you can activate Copilot Pro and use it in VS Code by doing the following:

Enable Copilot Pro on your GitHub account

1. Go to GitHub Copilot settings.
2. Click Enable GitHub Copilot for my account.
3. If prompted, confirm that you want to use Copilot Pro (your Student Pack covers the subscription).

Install & sign in to Copilot in VS Code

1. Open VS Code.

2. Go to the Extensions Marketplace (left sidebar) and search for GitHub Copilot.

3. Click Install.

4. Once installed, click Sign in to GitHub when prompted.

   • Make sure you sign in with the same account that has your Student Pack benefits enabled.

Verify it’s active

• Open any file in VS Code and start typing, Copilot should suggest completions automatically.
• You can check Copilot status in VS Code’s status bar (bottom right) or by running > GitHub Copilot: Status in the Command Palette.

Note:

• If you still see “Copilot Free” instead of “Copilot Pro,” log out of GitHub in VS Code and log back in again.
• Benefits can take a few minutes to a couple of hours to sync after approval.
