Over the past four weeks, we’ve gone on a journey together - one focused on clarity, collaboration, and community care.

Through Discussions Unlocked, we set out to answer a surprisingly tricky question: What does the Discussions category actually exist for?

And week by week, we watched things shift.

• Posts started showing up in the right place.
• People began asking, “Does this actually belong in Discussions?”
• And folks who were once unsure are now helping others find the right category, too.

Let’s take a moment to revisit what we’ve built together.

📚 What we covered

• In Week 1, we broke down the purpose of this category — and made it crystal clear that it's for conversations about the GitHub Discussions product, not just any kind of post hosted in a discussion format. We looked at what fits, what doesn’t, and why it matters.
• In Week 2, we ran a community quiz full of realistic and tricky scenarios — testing our instincts and clarifying the gray areas.
  From feature requests to programming errors to UI bugs, we explored the boundary between Discussions and everything else.
• In Week 3, we spotlighted standout posts in our Wall of Fame - examples that hit the mark, followed the template, and demonstrated exactly how powerful a well-categorized topic can be.

Each week built on the last, and together we’ve made the Discussions category a more useful, welcoming space.
