When you make a commit locally using Git, you can set the author name, email, and date for that commit. This date is part of the commit metadata and is completely independent of when you created your GitHub account. If you push a repository to GitHub that contains commits with older author dates, those dates will show up in your contribution history, even if they predate your GitHub account creation. Or it could be that you forked/collaborated/used a project locally from another version control platform before pushing to github as well. |

It is quite weird that there are many fake years on the bottom right of my profile page from 2008.

I joined Github in 2022. Why is that? Is there anything wrong with my repositories? There were even contributions in 2008. Whereas, there wasn't any details after I had clicked the specific day. How could that happen?
