Reuse Academic Email for GitHub Student Discount

Hi everyone,

Iam writing to request assistance regarding the GitHub Student Developer Pack. I attempted to apply using my academic email address ([email protected]), but received an error stating that this email has already been used to obtain a student discount for the GitHub account CarlosDobleV.

Please note that I have already unlinked my academic email from the CarlosDobleV account, as I am no longer using that account for academic purposes. I would like to use my academic email with my current GitHub account to reapply for the Student Developer Pack.

Could you please help me proceed with this request, or let me know if any further steps are required?

Hi @MrCarlosDobleV,

Student Developer Pack benefits are tied to the email address you used to apply in the first place, so even if you have unlinked it from your previous account, you won't be able to reapply using the same email address. Also note that student benefits can't be transferred from one account to another.

You could try contacting support by opening a ticket here, select "Other" and ask them if they can do anything about it.
