"This is a cutoff date" Does Not Revoke Write Permissions After Due Date

Hi!

The "This is a cutoff date" checkbox seems broken. Students continue to have write permissions to their repository even after the due date has passed. There are a couple other open discussions for this issue dating back to 2023 - Is this the right place to report this bug to GitHub or should this also be reported somewhere else to get it fixed?
