We expect GitHub Enterprise Server (GHES) to support more diverse deployment platforms in the future, drawing on the flexible deployment capabilities of products such as GitLab. Specifically, we hope that GHES can support high-availability cluster deployment solutions based on Kubernetes, and provide installation methods in the form of RPM and DEB packages to adapt to mainstream Linux distributions, including RHEL and its derivatives, Debian and its derivatives, etc. Currently, GHES only supports deployment on specified virtualization platforms. This approach has obvious deficiencies in flexibility and scalability when facing ultra-large enterprise deployment scenarios (such as large organizations with 200,000 users), and it is difficult to meet complex requirements such as elastic deployment and cluster management.
