How do I see who can write to a repo?

As a visitor, how can I determine which contributors have merge and write access to a repo?

Hello, @whatupjeff

To determine the contributors in a repository, you can do the following:

• Checking the name of the repository i.e cakecable/repository, this shows you the owner of the repository unless it is an organization, which then you can check the organization's contributors.
• If you scroll down on the repository on the right panel you should see a list of contributors to the repository
• Finally, (Most Affective) going to the repository you'd like to check and pressing the "Insight" tab on the top and clicking "Contributors" on the right should bring a graph of stats on people who've contributed to the repository.

I can see contributors, but I can't see who has write access. Is this visible or am i missing something? Hello again @whatupjeff,

The purpose of GitHub is that anyone can edit your code! Anyone on the site can request to edit code to the repository which the owner can decline or accept. If you're talking about Collaborators (People who can directly commit files) they're unfortunately locked. Only the owner of the repository can see and edit collaborators.
