Preserving url on form submission with errors?

To minimize unnecessary redirects, my goal is to keep the current URL (instead of the POST URL) when validation errors occur, and only switch to the page.url on success (handled via resolveUrlUsing on the backend).

At the moment, I’ve been using the resolveUrlUsing method for both error and success cases, but that feels more complex than necessary.

Given this, I was wondering: similar to how the preserveState option accepts a page callback, would it be possible to support the same behavior for the preserveUrl request option?

The POST/PUT/PATCH should be handled by Inertia.js, you shouldn't have any redirect.

In my app I have multiple routes for the same get request, to account for translated urls
So, for each group of translated gets I have one post request. When submitting the form from any of those pages, the url is replaced with the post route url, which would return a 405 error if the user was to reload the page or even during some run time executions.

My objective is to, in case of error, keep the url and show errors and, in case of success, depending on the backend result, change the url to the one of the following content and present the respective view, therefore avoiding any redirects.

That being said, inertia's POST, PUT and PATCH default url resolving isn't suitable for my needs and neither is always preserving the url.

Currently I'm using a workaround by setting the url to the request referer in all non get requests by default, which isn't ideal, and overriding it whenever necessary.
