Tab Functionality - Pin / Lock Note #7032

Hi @mschindler504! I'm Dosu and I’m helping the Trilium team. Trilium Notes does not currently support pinning tabs like in Google Chrome, nor does it have a built-in feature to lock a tab, note, or split-view to prevent navigation away from the current note. Tabs are considered temporary and can be reordered, closed, or moved to new windows, but there is no option to fix a tab in place or restrict navigation within it (source, source). There have been feature requests and discussions about stacked navigation and isolating tabs, but these are not implemented and would require significant UI changes (source). The closest workaround is using split view or moving tabs to new windows, but these do not lock the navigation context. Some users use browser plugins to simulate split views, but this is outside Trilium’s core functionality. Let me know if you want more details on workarounds or have a specific workflow in mind! To reply, just mention @dosu. How did I do? Good | Irrelevant | Incorrect | Verbose | Hallucination | Report 🐛 | Other |
